A pallet is used as a base for transporting goods as part of a supply chain. It’s defined in the MH1-2016 standard as a flat, rigid and portable horizontal platform. It’s often secured with shrink wrap, collars or netting. They are used in the transport of materials to allow handling by pallet jacks, conveyors and forklifts. Their standard size allows for bulk storage, racking and transportation. Pallets -thankfully- eliminate the need to measure the base dimensions of every single load. Wood fabricated pallets are the most popular material for their durability, reusability and reliability.

When the base is a standard size, the only thing you really need to measure is your pallet load height. That’s because the width and depth measurements will remain consistent with your pallet standards. So, when generating a pallet quote you’ll really just need to account for height and weight.
